In mid September 2018, my wife and I took the train to Winnipeg and drove a vintage car home to Midland (north of Toronto) via Rainy River. We stopped three times to fish as we had a week to complete the drive. Our second stop was at Kashabowie River Resort, as they were one of the few places still open that late in the season. We arrived very late afternoon and found our cabin neat and tidy, very clean, and supplied with everything needed (except food which we had brought). We were given a fishing boat and motor and told where to fish. We ate a fresh pickerel (walleye) supper that night. The next day, we fished for the day and, despite a screaming wind going up the length of the lake causing white caps, we were able to find enough sheltered bays to catch ~ 20 fish. No monsters but lots of good sized ones. My wife also enjoyed a swim in the rapids . It was very reasonably priced and we would recommend it without reservation. Drs.
